**New Delhi, March 28, 2025** – Two boys drowned in a canal in Delhi’s Bawana area on Thursday morning, police reported. Rohit (13) and Mohit (9), residents of Vijay Colony, were playing near the canal when they accidentally fell in.
A PCR call was received at approximately 7:15 a.m., prompting a response from the Delhi Fire Service and National Disaster Response Force. Rohit was rescued and rushed to Maharshi Balmiki Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was sent to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem. The search for Mohit continues.
A friend of the deceased, Harsh, who witnessed the incident, provided a statement to the police. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
