**Ranipet, March 28, 2025** – The Railway Protection Force (RPF) made a significant drug bust on Friday at Arakkonam railway station in Ranipet. During routine security checks on the Tata Nagar (Jharkhand) – Ernakulam Express train, RPF personnel discovered two abandoned bags containing approximately 26 kilograms of ganja.
The discovery was made in a general compartment of the train, which had stopped at the station en route to Chennai. Preliminary investigations suggest two individuals fled the scene after noticing the RPF’s presence. The suspects are believed to have left the bags containing the ganja behind before disembarking.
Arakkonam RPF has registered a case and is analyzing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects. The seized ganja has been confiscated.
