**Visakhapatnam, March 28, 2025** – The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has announced there is no age restriction for applying for its prestigious fellowships, according to Maya Sundara Rajan, the USIEF regional officer for Chennai. Speaking at a webinar hosted by GITAM Deemed to be University in Visakhapatnam, Ms. Rajan highlighted the opportunities available through the Fulbright-Nehru grants.
These grants provide funding for Indian students and scholars pursuing master’s degrees in the U.S., covering tuition, living expenses, and other necessities. PhD candidates in Indian universities can also utilize the fellowships to conduct research in the U.S., leveraging advanced resources and mentorship.
The USIEF releases the fellowship application annually in February, with deadlines typically falling between mid-May and July. Ms. Rajan emphasized the importance of English proficiency and noted a preference for candidates without extensive recent U.S. experience, who also possess strong academic and professional achievements.
