**MUMBAI, INDIA** – JioStar announced record-breaking viewership figures for the opening week of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, exceeding all expectations. From March 22nd to March 24th, a combined 49.56 billion minutes of watch time were logged across JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network.
Digital viewership on JioHotstar soared, with the first three matches boasting a 40% increase compared to last season, driven by a remarkable 54% surge in connected TV usage. These matches alone garnered 1.37 billion views and 21.86 billion minutes of watch time.
Television viewership also reached unprecedented heights. BARC data reveals over 253 million viewers tuned in during the opening weekend, accumulating 27.7 billion minutes of watch time – a 22% increase year-on-year. The average television viewership rating for the first three matches jumped by 39% compared to the previous season.
