**Hanamkonda, Telangana – March 28, 2025** – The Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme (DLIS) in Telangana took a significant step forward yesterday with the inauguration of its Phase-III pumping station. Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy officially switched on the station in Devannapet, Hanamkonda district.

The event marks a crucial milestone in the state government’s efforts to ensure sustainable irrigation and drinking water access across key areas. Minister Reddy, accompanied by Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and several MLAs, visited the Dharmasagar reservoir following the inauguration.

Speaking to the press, Minister Reddy emphasized the project’s importance in protecting crops, securing the ayacut (irrigated land), and meeting drinking water demands. He attributed delays to the previous government’s inaction, highlighting recent efforts to secure central funding by meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. The Minister assured that the project will be completed expeditiously.
