Thu Mar 27 20:03:50 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Government Offers Free Online Coaching for NEET and CUET Exams
**NEW DELHI, March 28, 2025** – The Delhi government announced a major initiative Thursday to provide free online coaching to over 1.63 lakh students preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the Central University Entrance Test (CUET). The 30-day program, starting April 2nd, will offer six hours of daily instruction in subjects relevant to both exams.
The initiative is a collaboration with BIG Institute, a joint venture between the National Skill Development Corporation International and ed-tech company PhysicsWallah. The program includes online classes, PDF notes, tests, and doubt-clearing sessions.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hailed the MoU as a crucial step in ensuring access to quality education for all students, regardless of financial background. Education Minister Ashish Sood described it as a “landmark initiative.” PhysicsWallah co-founder Prateek Maheshwari emphasized the program’s goal of providing opportunities to talented students who may lack access to expensive coaching.
However, the move has sparked debate. While the UGC chairperson previously claimed students wouldn’t need private coaching for the CUET, the MoU’s signing has led some, like Delhi University’s Abha Dev Habib, to suggest that centralized exams necessitate coaching. Concerns were also raised regarding potential budget implications and the outsourcing of public funds to private entities. Habib emphasized the need for transparency regarding the financial aspects of the program.
