Fri Mar 28 15:29:41 UTC 2025: ## BJP Leader Predicts Further Expulsions Within Karnataka Party
**Mysuru, March 28, 2025** – The Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has predicted that the BJP will target MLAs S.T. Somashekar and Shivaram Hebbar following the expulsion of rebel leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal. Narayanaswamy linked the show-cause notices issued to Somashekar and Hebbar to Yatnal’s expulsion, stating it serves as a warning to other dissenting members. He criticized Yatnal for opposing party leaders instead of focusing on the opposition.
Narayanaswamy also renewed the BJP’s call for Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s resignation over his alleged comments about altering the Constitution. He expressed disappointment at the lack of response from Dalit organizations, noting their silence contrasts sharply with their past protests against similar statements by BJP leaders. He questioned their inaction, referencing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s call for people to leave the Congress party.
Further criticizing the Congress government, Narayanaswamy highlighted the increase in prices of essential commodities, contradicting the party’s pre-election promises. He accused the Congress of focusing solely on its “five guarantees” electoral promises rather than undertaking development work, alleging the party is engaged in “honey trapping.”
