Fri Mar 28 11:06:45 UTC 2025: ## Cabinet Approves Major Bihar Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹10,000 Crore

**Patna, Bihar – March 28, 2025** – The Union Cabinet has approved two significant infrastructure projects for Bihar totaling ₹9,994 crore, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced today. The projects include a crucial river linking initiative and a major highway expansion.

The Kosi Mechi intra-state river link project, costing ₹6,282 crore, aims to improve flood management and irrigation in the state. Minister Vaishnaw stated that this project will provide additional irrigation facilities to 2.1 lakh hectares of land during the Kharif season.

Simultaneously, the cabinet greenlighted the construction of a 120km four-lane highway connecting Patna, Arrah, and Sasaram. This project carries a price tag of ₹3,712 crore.

These announcements come ahead of the Bihar state assembly elections scheduled for November 2025.
