Fri Mar 28 15:46:47 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Techie Murders Wife, Stuffing Body in Suitcase Before Attempted Suicide

**Bengaluru, Karnataka:** A 36-year-old tech professional, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, has been arrested in connection with the murder of his 32-year-old wife, Gauri Anil Sambekar, in Bengaluru. Police discovered Gauri’s body dismembered and stuffed into a suitcase at their Doddakannahalli residence on Thursday. Preliminary investigations suggest she was stabbed multiple times.

The couple, who had been living in Bengaluru for a year, reportedly argued on Wednesday night. The argument escalated, resulting in Rakesh allegedly stabbing Gauri to death. He then reportedly called Gauri’s parents in Maharashtra, confessing to the crime. The parents alerted the Maharashtra police, triggering a coordinated investigation with Karnataka police.

Following the murder, Rakesh fled to Pune, where he attempted suicide by consuming poison. He was found unconscious and is currently hospitalized under police guard. A Bengaluru police team is en route to Pune to bring him back to Bengaluru to face charges.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand stated that marital discord appears to be the motive behind the murder. Gauri had a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media, while Rakesh worked from home for a private firm. The case is being investigated further.
