**Chennai, India** – Popular Tamil actor Vijay, leader of the fledgling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, launched a blistering attack on both the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at his party’s first general council meeting. Accusing the DMK of a tacit alliance with the BJP, Vijay asserted that the national party is the “secret owner” of the ruling state party.

Vijay’s criticisms spanned a wide range of issues, including the delimitation process, alleged Hindi imposition, the devolution of Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections, rising crimes against women, and the central government’s “one nation, one election” plan.
