**Tokyo, Japan** – Renowned Japanese singer Koosuke Nakajima, 44, was arrested on August 28th on suspicion of sexual assault, according to the Ebara Police Station in Tokyo. Nakajima was apprehended at a public bathhouse in Shinagawa, Tokyo, at around 2:00 AM for allegedly committing indecent acts against a man in his twenties.
Reports indicate the victim, who was asleep on a chair, awoke to find Nakajima assaulting him. The victim subsequently subdued Nakajima and alerted bathhouse staff, who contacted the police. Nakajima was arrested on the spot.
Nakajima, originally from Amami Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, rose to fame in 2006 with his unique blend of “Shima Uta” (island songs) in his music. His 2007 hit song, “Hana” (Flower), was notably used as an advertisement theme song. He also had a dual role in the popular Taiwanese film, *Cape No. 7*.
The investigation is ongoing. The charge against Nakajima is “non-consensual sexual intercourse.”
