**Tokyo, Japan** – Renowned Japanese singer Chu Kōsuke (中孝介), known for his hit rendition of Jay Chou’s “Flower Sea” and his role in the film *Cape No. 7*, was arrested on Wednesday for alleged sexual assault. Police reports state the 43-year-old singer was apprehended at a public bathhouse for allegedly committing an indecent act against a sleeping man in his twenties.

According to reports, the victim, who was asleep in a chair, awoke to find Kōsuke assaulting him. The victim subsequently restrained Kōsuke until staff arrived and contacted the authorities. Kōsuke was arrested on charges of sexual assault without consent.

Chu Kōsuke boasts a successful career spanning over a decade, having received accolades such as the Asian Idol Best Fashion Artist Award in 2012 and the Asian New Song Chart Overseas Outstanding Singer Award in 2019.
