**Tokyo, Japan** – TBS’s morning news program, “THE TIME,” is undergoing a significant relaunch after three and a half years on air. The show, airing weekdays at 5:20 AM, announced a refreshed lineup and a new focus on viewer interaction.
Starting March 31st, new weekday regulars will include: Yumi Kawada (Monday), Rie Mochizuki (Tuesday), Yuki Matsumaru (Wednesday), and Rina Matsuda of Sakurazaka46 (Thursday). Fridays will feature monthly guest hosts, with Katsuji Takahashi slated for April.
The revamp includes a new concept: “With you, thoroughly. – Creating your news with you.” The program aims to prioritize viewer feedback, tailoring its content to address audience interests and concerns. This commitment is reflected in a redesigned logo, combining blue (representing the program and TBS) and yellow (representing viewers), and a strengthened “News Interest Ranking” segment. The studio set has also received a makeover, adopting a bright and airy design.
Program producer Eisuke Sone stated that the show aims to be a beloved program for 20 or 30 years to come, emphasizing a renewed focus on viewer needs and engagement. A new official LINE account will allow viewers to share their news interests and shape the program’s daily content. The show’s anchor team of Shinichiro Anju, Ai Eto, Shinya Sugayama, and Meg Ugojin also expressed their strengthened bond after three and a half years together.
