**Chennai, India** – The highly anticipated release of actor Vikram’s new film, “Veera Dheera Sooran,” was thrown into chaos today following a last-minute legal injunction. Numerous morning shows across India and the US were cancelled due to a dispute between the film’s production house, HR Pictures, and B4U, a media company.
B4U filed a case in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, claiming HR Pictures breached a contract regarding the film’s OTT rights. The court issued an interim stay on the release until 10:30 am Thursday, effectively cancelling all early morning screenings in major chains like PVR and Cinepolis. Reports suggest that B4U is seeking ₹7 crore (approximately $850,000 USD) in compensation from producer Riya Shibu and demands all relevant documents be submitted within 48 hours.
The legal battle left many fans disappointed, particularly those who had already purchased tickets for early morning screenings. Vikram, who heavily promoted the film, has yet to publicly comment on the situation. While afternoon shows are expected to proceed, the impact of this legal setback on the film’s overall box office performance remains to be seen.
“Veera Dheera Sooran,” directed by SU Arun Kumar and also starring SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan, and Siddique, is planned as a two-part series. A prequel, “Part 1,” is yet to begin production.
