**NEW DELHI, INDIA** – UPI, India’s widely used mobile payment system, experienced a significant outage on Wednesday evening, affecting thousands of users across the country. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) confirmed intermittent technical issues caused partial payment failures on popular apps such as Google Pay and Paytm.

Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages, registered over 3,000 complaints regarding UPI payment failures around 6 pm. Users reported difficulties completing transactions.

The NPCI announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the technical issues have been resolved and UPI services have been fully restored. The organization apologized for the inconvenience caused to its users.
