Thu Mar 27 14:45:38 UTC 2025: ## Religious Leader Blames “Western Culture” and Lack of Upbringing for Meerut Murder

**Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, March 27, 2025** – Following the gruesome murder of Saurabh Rajput, whose body was dismembered and found encased in cement, religious preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba, attributed the crime to a decline in family values and the influence of “Western culture.”

Rajput’s wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, have been arrested and charged with the murder. Police investigations revealed the couple, both drug addicts, feared Rajput would interfere with their drug use. Rajput, who worked in London, was in Meerut celebrating his daughter’s sixth birthday when he was killed. Muskaan confessed to the crime to her parents, who then took her to the police.

Shastri, in response to media inquiries, stated that the incident highlights a breakdown in the family system. He connected the crime to extramarital affairs and a lack of proper upbringing, suggesting that families should adhere to the teachings of the Shri Ramcharitmanas to instill strong moral values in their children. He cheekily referenced the blue plastic drum used to conceal the body parts, stating, “Many husbands are in shock.”

The case has shocked the nation, prompting a wider discussion about societal values and family dynamics in India. Both Rastogi and Shukla are currently in a Meerut prison awaiting trial.
