Wed Mar 26 16:47:18 UTC 2025: ## Sudan’s Army Reclaims Key RSF Base in Khartoum, Claims Airport Seizure

**Khartoum, Sudan – March 26, 2025** – Sudan’s army announced today that it has recaptured the Teiba al-Hasnab camp, a key base used by the rival Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group in Khartoum. This significant victory brings the military closer to declaring full control of the capital, following last week’s recapture of the Republican Palace.

Army spokesperson Brig. Gen. Nabil Abdullah Ali confirmed the recapture of the camp, stating it was the RSF’s last stronghold in Khartoum. Information Minister Khaled al-Aiser lauded the army’s efforts, praising the “heroic Sudanese people” and celebrating the victory.

Further bolstering the military’s claims, Egyptian state broadcaster Al-Qahera News reported that the Sudanese army has also seized Khartoum International Airport, citing an unnamed military source. This claim has yet to be independently verified.

The nearly two-year conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF has resulted in at least 28,000 deaths and displaced over 14 million people, pushing parts of the country into famine. While the recapture of Khartoum represents a major victory for the army, fighting continues in areas like the western Darfur region, indicating that the conflict is far from over.
