**Kalaburagi, Karnataka, March 27, 2025** – Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Taranum has emphasized the crucial role of women’s empowerment in economic growth, directing officials to conduct special training sessions for women entrepreneurs in Kalaburagi district. This initiative involves collaboration with organizations like the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry to expand awareness and training opportunities.
During a Wednesday review meeting focusing on several key committees including the District Level Single Window Clearance Committee (DLSWCC), the Kaigarika Spandana Samithi, and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Ms. Taranum stressed the efficient processing of applications. She specifically instructed the prompt processing of PM Vishwakarma scheme applications and ensured readily available loans for eligible beneficiaries.
The meeting also highlighted Kalaburagi’s export performance, with figures of ₹448.76 crore in 2022-23 and ₹129.67 crore in 2023-24. Ms. Taranum directed officials to gather exporter information and organize training programs to boost future exports.
Further directives included expediting the allotment of plots in Kapnoor Industrial Area, clearing land encroachments, and reserving land for an Auto and General Engineering Cluster. The Deputy Commissioner also urged officials to follow up on a pending proposal to empower the DLSWCC with plot allotment authority. The meeting was attended by senior officials including the Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat CEO and City Corporation Commissioner.
