**Thanjavur, March 27, 2025** – The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced an extension to the Kacheguda-Madurai-Kacheguda (07191/92) Special Fare Special Premium Tatkal train service. The weekly service, operating via the Southern Railway mainline, will now continue until the first week of May.
Initially launched in April 2024, the train departs Kacheguda every Monday at 8:30 PM, arriving in Madurai at 1:20 AM on Wednesday. The return journey leaves Madurai at 10:40 AM on Wednesday and reaches Kacheguda by 1:25 PM on Thursday.
A key feature of the extension is the provision of service for mainline commuters between Villupuram and Tiruchirappalli (Tiruchi). The train will run between these cities on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until early May. On Tuesdays, it departs Villupuram at 4:15 PM, stopping at several stations including Cuddalore Port Junction, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai Junction, Kumbakonam, and Thanjavur Junction before reaching Tiruchi by 9:40 PM. The return journey on Wednesdays leaves Tiruchi at 1:25 PM, reaching Villupuram by 7:45 PM.
