**Chennai, March 27, 2025** – The second annual all-India research scholars’ summit and job fair kicked off Thursday at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM). The four-day event, organized by students, aims to connect researchers with industry leaders and foster collaborations. This year’s fair featured a strong emphasis on women’s contributions to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Nearly 30% of the participants are from the humanities department, highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of the event. The first day’s activities included the launch of Eaton’s Pratibha awards, granting ₹1.25 lakh to nine outstanding women students from IITM.

IITM director V. Kamakoti stressed the importance of cutting-edge research for India’s vision of becoming a developed nation (“Viksit Bharat”) by 2047. He expressed hope that the summit would cultivate strong research partnerships. Dean (Students) Sathyanarayana Gummadi encouraged researchers to explore the institute’s research park and incubation cell. The event also includes oral and poster presentations, and workshops on technical writing. Other speakers included N. Subramanian, executive director of the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), and Shanti Pavan, dean (academic research).
