**Madurai, March 26, 2025** – Vadak Raviraj Harishchandra, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices in the Madurai Division, addressed aspiring Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) candidates at a motivational meet organized by The Hindu in collaboration with Shankar IAS Academy and Yadava College. Harishchandra, himself a successful UPSC candidate from a rural Maharashtra background, shared his journey, emphasizing the importance of hard work and self-belief.

He encouraged students, particularly those from rural areas, to view their backgrounds as an advantage, highlighting their deeper understanding of social issues. He stressed the importance of focusing on personal strengths rather than comparing oneself to competitors. Harishchandra also dispelled misconceptions about UPSC, noting the wide range of services beyond the commonly known IAS, IPS, and IFS.

Addressing questions about coaching and location, Harishchandra advised that while attending coaching academies or relocating to Delhi could be beneficial, dedicated self-study and regular testing were equally effective. The event concluded with a donation of The Hindu publications to the college library. The meet was attended by college officials and representatives from The Hindu and Shankar IAS Academy.
