Thu Mar 27 10:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Celtics Cruise to Victory Over Kings Despite Tatum Ankle Injury

**Sacramento, CA –** The Boston Celtics secured a convincing 113-95 road win over the Sacramento Kings on Monday, avenging their earlier loss to the Kings on January 10th. While Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with a game-high 25 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, his performance was overshadowed by a late-game ankle injury suffered after a flagrant foul by Domantas Sabonis.

The Kings, missing Malik Monk due to illness, jumped out to an early nine-point lead. However, Tatum’s strong play, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Payton Pritchard, helped Boston take a 30-29 lead after the first quarter. The Celtics extended their advantage throughout the game, building a comfortable lead by the fourth quarter.

While Tatum’s injury cast a shadow on the victory, the Celtics bench stepped up significantly. Payton Pritchard had a standout performance with 22 points, while Luke Kornet contributed 13 points and eight rebounds. Baylor Scheierman also added a solid nine points and seven rebounds. This bench production offset the relatively quiet performances of Jaylen Brown (nine points) and Marcus Smart (five points).

The Kings struggled to match the Celtics’ bench production. Markelle Fultz led the Sacramento bench with eight points, while Jonas Valanciunas and Jake LaRavia managed only four and two points respectively.

Despite the win, the Celtics will be monitoring Tatum’s ankle injury ahead of their next game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The severity of the injury remains unclear.
