**Bengaluru, March 26, 2025** – Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, a BJP MLA and vocal critic of party leadership, has been expelled from the party for six years for alleged indiscipline. Yatnal, who has openly challenged veteran leader B.S. Yediyurappa and his son, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra, claims his expulsion is a result of his outspoken criticism of dynastic politics and corruption within the party.
In a social media post, Yatnal stated that he was punished for speaking out against these issues and advocating for the development of North Karnataka. He vowed to continue his fight against corruption and for the region’s progress.
Responding to the expulsion, Vijayendra described the decision as “inevitable,” stressing that he had refrained from formally complaining about Yatnal’s attacks. While expressing regret over the situation, Vijayendra emphasized his commitment to strengthening the party and working towards unseating the Congress government. He called for unity within the BJP to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s development.
