Vijayawada, March 27, 2025 – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled an ambitious vision for the state’s economic future, setting a target of $42,000 per capita income and a 15% growth rate. Addressing the valedictory session of the third Collectors’ Conference in Amaravati, Naidu urged district officials to drive innovation, embrace technology, and aggressively attract investment to achieve these ambitious goals.
Naidu stressed the importance of each district leveraging its unique resources to contribute to the overall economic growth. He emphasized the need for proactive leadership, regular district tours by Collectors to engage with stakeholders, and the development of initiatives to boost per capita income. He warned officials that inaction on key issues would not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister highlighted the need to effectively utilize the ₹7 lakh crore in investments secured over the past nine months, emphasizing that well-planned, technology-driven initiatives are paramount, even above funding. He lauded WhatsApp governance as a revolutionary tool for improving public service delivery.
Naidu also announced key initiatives including the development of Visakhapatnam as an economic hub, Anakapalli as a defense industry center, and ASR district as an organic farming hub. Plans include creating 5,000 star-hotel rooms over the next five years to boost tourism and generate employment. Significant infrastructure projects such as the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and Mulapet Port were also mentioned.
District Collectors presented revamped action plans aimed at achieving over 15% growth in Gross District Domestic Product and Gross District Value Added. Naidu instructed them to continuously refine these plans to meet the ambitious targets. He also mandated a “zero-tolerance” policy towards crimes against women and substance abuse.
