**New Delhi:** This year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) sees a significant number of players entering the tournament newly married or with their partners in attendance. Several players are competing in the IPL for the first time since tying the knot, leading to speculation about the impact of “lady luck” on their performance.

Among the high-profile newlyweds are Kolkata Knight Riders’ vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer, who married Shruti Raghunathan on June 2nd, 2024, and Rashid Khan of Gujarat Titans, who wed in Kabul on October 3rd, 2024. Iyer’s marriage seemingly coincided with a career boost, as he was bought by KKR for a whopping ₹23.75 crore after his nuptials. Rashid Khan, a star leg-spinner, is playing for Gujarat Titans, captained by Shubman Gill.

Other notable players participating in the IPL after recent marriages include David Miller of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who married Camila Harris on May 28th, 2024, and Chetan Sakariya of KKR, who married Megha Jambucha in 2024. Mohsin Khan (LSG) and Harpreet Barar (Punjab Kings) also joined the league post-wedding.

The presence of partners and the perceived influence of “lady luck” adds an interesting dimension to the tournament, as fans and analysts alike await to see how these newly married players perform on the field.
