Wed Mar 26 00:20:13 UTC 2025: ## Russia and Ukraine Agree to 30-Day Truce on Energy Infrastructure

**Moscow/Kyiv –** Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a temporary 30-day moratorium on strikes targeting critical energy infrastructure, the Kremlin announced Tuesday. The agreement, reportedly brokered with the United States, covers oil refineries, pipelines, nuclear power plants, fuel storage facilities, and various electricity generation and transmission assets, including power plants, substations, and hydroelectric dams.

The Kremlin released a list of protected facilities on its Telegram channel, stating that the truce, effective March 18th, could be extended by mutual consent. However, a violation by either party would void the agreement for both sides.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Kyiv had submitted a list of facilities to U.S. officials for consideration. While the Kremlin stated the agreement was reached between Russia and the U.S., Zelenskyy’s statement suggests US mediation played a significant role. The agreement marks a rare instance of cooperation between the warring nations on a key issue affecting civilian populations.
