HYDERABAD, INDIA – The Telangana government announced the launch of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, aimed at providing financial assistance to youth from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Castes (BC), Minorities, and Extremely Backward Castes (EBC) communities. The scheme will allocate units based on the population of these groups in each district.

District collectors will distribute the units according to the population of each welfare category in their respective mandals and municipalities. The scheme offers a 100% subsidy for units valued up to ₹50,000. For units costing between ₹100,000 and ₹200,000, an 80% subsidy is available, and for units between ₹200,000 and ₹400,000, a 70% subsidy will be provided. The subsidy is limited to one member per family. The final selection of beneficiaries will be made by the collector with the approval of the district minister.

Eligible youth can apply through the Telangana OBMS portal. A committee headed by the MPDO at the mandal level and the collector at the district level will handle the selection process. The Welfare Department has made the online application process available for EBC groups.
