Tue Mar 25 15:57:23 UTC 2025: **Karnataka Minister Submits Honey-Trap Complaint After Five-Day Delay**
Bengaluru, March 25, 2025 – Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna finally submitted a memorandum to Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Tuesday, detailing two alleged honey-trap attempts against him. This comes five days after Rajanna first publicly claimed 48 individuals, including himself, were targeted in such schemes.
The memorandum requests legal action. While Home Minister Parameshwara stated that the government will act based on legal advice and won’t wait for a Supreme Court PIL outcome, he explained the initial delay in taking suo moto action due to the disclosure being made in the Assembly, making it the property of the House and its Speaker.
Rajanna attributed his delay in filing the complaint to a busy schedule, a claim met with skepticism given the political fallout following his initial disclosure. The BJP and Janata Dal (S) had demanded a CBI investigation. Though his son, MLC Rajendra Rajanna, had indicated a police complaint would be filed, this is yet to happen.
Rajanna’s complaint focuses solely on his own experiences, stating he cannot speak for others. He explained the events leading to his public disclosure, including two alleged incidents at his residence involving a young man and two different women. He further added that despite trying to investigate, there were no CCTV cameras in his house to provide evidence. Rajanna is expected to discuss the matter with the party high command in Delhi after March 30th. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reportedly left the decision on how to proceed to the Home Minister.
