Wed Mar 26 06:57:47 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Congress MLAs Demand Cabinet Representation for Madiga Community

**Hyderabad, March 26, 2025** – Six Madiga community MLAs in Telangana have urged the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to include a representative from their community in the upcoming state cabinet expansion. In a letter to AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, the legislators highlighted the Madiga community’s significant population (nearly 47 lakh) and consistent support for the Congress party, both historically and in the recent 2023 Assembly elections.

The MLAs, including Mandula Samel, Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Vemula Veeresham, Thota Laxmikantha Rao, Adluri Lakshman Kumar, and Kale Yadaiah, pointed out the community’s lack of representation in the recent Lok Sabha elections, where they secured no MP seats despite a strong presence in SC reserved constituencies. They emphasized that cabinet representation would ensure their voices are heard and their concerns addressed effectively, strengthening the party’s commitment to social justice.

The request comes amidst speculation that the Congress high command is considering a Mala community MLA for a cabinet position. The MLAs expressed confidence that Natarajan would consider their appeal, aligning with the Congress leadership’s consistent advocacy for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
