**KASARAGOD, KERALA – March 26, 2025** – A leopard has been captured in a cage set by the Kerala Forest Department in Kolathur, Bedadka, Kasaragod. This is the second such incident in the area this year, following the capture of a five-year-old leopard in February.

The leopard, found on a rubber plantation near Baroti on Wednesday morning, attracted a large crowd upon its discovery. Forest and police officials were dispatched to the scene. The captured animal has been moved to the Pallathungal forest office, while the Forest Department determines its release location. The February capture sparked protests after the leopard’s release near Mulleria. The department has yet to announce the release location for this latest capture.
