Wed Mar 26 06:17:07 UTC 2025: ## Panneerselvam Remains Optimistic After Palaniswami’s Meeting with Amit Shah

**Chennai, March 26, 2025** – Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam expressed a positive outlook on Tuesday’s meeting between AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Responding to reporters at the Chennai Assembly complex, Mr. Panneerselvam stated that the meeting was “all for the best.”

This follows Mr. Panneerselvam’s recent call for unity within the AIADMK. During the Delhi meeting, Mr. Palaniswami presented a memorandum to Mr. Shah, highlighting concerns over delimitation and the alleged deterioration of law and order in the state.

The AIADMK’s relationship with the BJP has been tumultuous. The party left the BJP-led NDA in September 2023, citing defamation of AIADMK icons and disagreements over policies. Until recently, the AIADMK had ruled out any alliance with the BJP for the 2026 Assembly elections. The significance of Mr. Palaniswami’s meeting with Mr. Shah and the potential implications for the AIADMK’s future political alliances remain to be seen.
