**TIRUNELVELI, March 26, 2025** – V. Karuppasamy Pandian, a former MLA and prominent figure in Tamil Nadu politics, passed away in his sleep at the age of 75 on Wednesday. Pandian, a long-time member of the AIADMK, had a career marked by shifts in party allegiance.
He began his political journey in 1972, joining the newly formed Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) under M.G. Ramachandran. He served as an MLA, representing Alangulam and Palayamkottai constituencies. His political trajectory included periods with both the AIADMK and its rival, the DMK. He held various positions within both parties, including deputy general secretary of the AIADMK. His career was punctuated by periods of expulsion and reinstatement, often driven by internal party conflicts and shifting political alliances. In recent years, he returned to the AIADMK under the leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Pandian is survived by his wife, three sons, and two daughters. His death marks the end of a long and complex career in Tamil Nadu’s dynamic political landscape.
