**New Delhi, March 25, 2025** – The Indian National Congress announced today that it will contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections as part of the INDIA (Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance) bloc. The decision, reached after a three-hour strategy meeting in Delhi, leaves the selection of a Chief Ministerial candidate to a collective decision by the alliance.

The meeting, chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and attended by Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders, focused on strengthening the party’s position in Bihar and preparing for the elections. Kharge highlighted growing public dissatisfaction with development, social justice, and issues like exam rigging and unemployment. Gandhi echoed this sentiment, expressing confidence in the state’s readiness for “an era of change and justice.”

AICC incharge Krishna Allavaru stated that a unified strategy was developed with Bihar Congress leaders, emphasizing a united front against the BJP and its allies. He confirmed that seat-sharing and the Chief Ministerial candidate will be decided collectively by the INDIA bloc, declining to comment on speculation regarding RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. The possibility of Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor joining the INDIA bloc will also be discussed by the alliance parties.
