**Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, March 25, 2025** – A search is underway for three children feared drowned in the Garra river in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Police and divers have been searching since Monday afternoon, when the children – Shahrukh (12), Shoaib (14), and Akhlaq (11) – went into the river while bathing.
According to Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi, the children were grazing goats with a fourth child, Zeeshan, when the incident occurred. Zeeshan witnessed his brothers struggling in the water and alerted their family.
Despite the immediate response of police, including a flood unit and trained divers, the children remain missing. A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team from Lucknow has been dispatched to assist in the ongoing search operation.
