**Thiruvananthapuram, March 25, 2025** – IPS officer Sujith Das has been reinstated and appointed as Superintendent of Police, Information, Communication and Technology, following a suspension for criticizing senior officials. The announcement came as part of a larger Kerala police reshuffle on Tuesday. Das previously served as District Police Chief in Pathanamthitta and Malappuram.
The reshuffle also saw Merin Joseph, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Thiruvananthapuram, transferred to the position of Assistant Inspector General of Police (Policy). To accommodate these transfers, two new ex-cadre positions – Controller, Legal Metrology, and Additional Excise Commissioner (Enforcement) – were created for one year. These positions are deemed equivalent in rank and responsibility to Assistant Inspector General of Police posts, according to the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2016. S. Deva Manohar will fill the Additional Excise Commissioner role, while Kishore Kumar takes on the Controller, Legal Metrology position.
