RENTON, WA – The Seattle Seahawks continued their busy offseason Monday, signing veteran tight end Eric Saubert. Saubert, a eight-year NFL veteran, joins the Seahawks after spending last season with the San Francisco 49ers. The fifth-round pick from Drake University (2017) has also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans. In his career, he’s appeared in 101 games, starting 19, and is known for his contributions on special teams. Last season, Saubert played in all 17 games, starting three, and recorded 11 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Saubert’s signing comes on the heels of a major free agency spending spree for the Seahawks. The team has already added high-profile players including quarterback Sam Darnold, wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, and offensive lineman Josh Jones. Other additions include cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles, safety D’Anthony Bell, linebacker Josh Ross and receiver River Cracraft. The team has made it clear that they are committed to building a strong and competitive roster for the upcoming season.
