**New Delhi** – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today presented the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s first budget for the national capital in over two decades. The Budget 2025-26, presented following a cabinet meeting and a visit to Hanuman Temple for prayers, was hailed by ministers as “historic” and a harbinger of positive change for Delhi.
CM Gupta expressed confidence in the budget’s positive impact, stating that it would usher in an era of progress and establish “Ram Rajya” in Delhi. Ministers Parvesh Verma and Kapil Mishra echoed her optimism, promising that the budget would bring joy to Delhi’s residents.
The budget presentation comes after the BJP’s victory in the 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, marking their return to power after 27 years. The session is also significant as it follows the tabling of a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report that criticized the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for operational inefficiencies and financial losses within the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The report detailed issues with fleet management, revenue generation, and overall sustainability of the DTC.
