Mon Mar 24 18:13:02 UTC 2025: ## Nigerian National Arrested in Hyderabad for Cocaine Peddling
**Hyderabad, March 24, 2025** – A 34-year-old Nigerian national, Ngwuchukwu Godwin Ifeanyi, alias Godwin, was arrested in Hyderabad on March 23rd for cocaine peddling. Police seized seven grams of cocaine from him during the arrest.
Ifeanyi, who arrived in India in 2015 on a student visa, overstayed his visa and became involved in drug trafficking, allegedly influenced by his associates. He operated primarily in Mumbai, sourcing drugs through contacts in Bengaluru and Mumbai. He utilized online financial transactions and a “dead drop” delivery method to avoid detection.
This was not his first offense. He has previous arrests in 2022 and 2023 in Hyderabad for similar charges. Following his most recent arrest, he relocated his operations to Mumbai before attempting another delivery to Hyderabad, leading to his recapture. The Central Zone of the Commissioner’s Task Force and Kachiguda police collaborated on the arrest. Ifeanyi is currently in custody.
