**Belagavi, March 25, 2025** – A man was beaten by a group of onlookers in Belagavi on Sunday night after repeatedly harassing a woman. Somanath Ghodse, a resident of Shastri Nagar, had been persistently pestering the woman, a salesgirl at a local retail mall, with unwanted calls and advances. Despite her repeated rejections and warnings from her relatives, Ghodse continued his harassment.
The incident escalated when the woman caught Ghodse stalking her near her home. She confronted him, presenting evidence of his calls to her relatives and neighbors. The assembled group then physically assaulted Ghodse before a group of elders intervened. Police from the APMC Police Station subsequently arrived at the scene.
