**Mangaluru, March 25, 2025** – A 24-year-old man, Archith Avinash Dodre, has been arrested by Karkala police for allegedly burglarizing several educational institutions in Udupi district. Dodre, a resident of Byndoor, was apprehended near St. Lawrence High School in Karkala on March 20th.
Police recovered valuables worth ₹3 lakh from Dodre, including cash and electronic equipment. He has confessed to multiple burglaries, including thefts at St. Joseph English Medium School (₹1.5 lakh cash and three DVRs), St. Mara Gorati English Medium School (₹60,000 cash and CCTV cameras), and Government HPS, Nandalike, where a cupboard was broken and items damaged. A vehicle used in the crimes was also seized.
Dodre has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. The arresting team was led by Karkala Circle Inspector D.R. Manjappa and included officers from Karkala Town and rural police stations.
