Tue Mar 25 10:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Local Teenager Landon Akins Dies in Tragic Accident

**Ford City, PA** – Landon Avory Akins, a 16-year-old resident of Cadogan, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, due to a tragic car accident. Akins, a student at Armstrong Jr./Sr. High School, was known for his vibrant personality and love of the outdoors. He enjoyed dirt biking, racing with AWRCS, fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He had planned to attend Lenape Tech to pursue welding.

Akins is survived by his mother Leighann (Greg) Berry, stepmother Ami Akins, siblings Lanna, Hunter, Nikayla, and Elijah, and numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Barry Alan Akins, Jr., and several other family members.

Visitation will be held at Mantini Funeral Home, Inc. in Ford City on Thursday, March 27th from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM, and again on Friday, March 28th from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Spring Church. A wake will be held at the Burrell Township Firehall following the burial to celebrate Akins’ life.

The community is mourning the loss of this young man, remembered for his zest for life and his many friendships.
