**Chennai, March 25, 2025** – A seminar celebrating the legacy of Dr. S. Anandalakshmy, a pioneer in early childhood care and development, emphasized the importance of innovative teaching methods to enhance children’s learning experiences. The event, the second in a series, focused on engaging young learners through songs, skits, and stories.

A new parenting guide, “Parenting for the early years — 3-6 years,” was released at the seminar. This sequel to “Birth —3 years,” adapted from the Hincks-Dellcrest Learning Through Play Calendars, has been translated into Tamil and distributed to 55,000 anganwadi centers across the state. The authors of the booklets were recognized for their contributions.

Speakers at the seminar, including educators and government officials, discussed the impact of positive and negative teaching methodologies and the benefits of integrating creative elements like songs, stories, and dance into education. Dr. Anandalakshmy, who headed Vidya Mandir and served as president of the Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust, was remembered for her pioneering work and partnerships in the field of early childhood development.
