**Mysuru, March 25, 2025** – A mass awareness rally and awards ceremony marked World Tuberculosis Day in Mysuru today, highlighting the ongoing fight against the infectious disease. Health officials stressed the urgent need for collaborative efforts to eradicate TB through early detection and treatment.
A large procession, involving students, doctors, nurses, and health officials, marched from the North Gate of Mysuru Palace to J.K. Grounds. Joint Director of Health, Mysuru, K.H. Prasad, emphasized the importance of a mass movement to create TB-free villages, warning that the disease poses a significant threat. He called for a joint effort involving the government, health officials, medical professionals, and the public to tackle the problem.
Dr. H.P. Shobha, Medical Superintendent of K.R. Hospital, highlighted the crucial role of students in identifying potential cases within their communities and referring them for treatment. Several gram panchayats across the district were recognized for achieving TB-free status. The event was jointly organized by the Mysuru district administration, zilla panchayat, and various health organizations.
