**Bengaluru, March 26, 2025** – The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will unveil its budget on Friday, March 28th, at the Town Hall. Presented by BBMP Special Commissioner (Finance) Harish Kumar, in lieu of an elected council, the budget is projected to reach ₹20,000 crore, a significant increase from last year’s revised figure of ₹13,116 crore.

This substantial increase, representing a 50-52% jump, is attributed to a ₹7,000 crore allocation from the recently announced state budget – a doubling from the previous year’s allocation of ₹3,000 crore. The budget’s preparation involved consultations with various stakeholders, including local MLAs, following a meeting between Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Bengaluru city MLAs on Monday to discuss the budget’s details.
