Mon Mar 24 04:42:15 UTC 2025: ## Woman Jumps from Moving Train to Escape Alleged Sexual Assault in Hyderabad
**Hyderabad, March 24, 2025** – A 23-year-old woman suffered severe injuries after jumping from a moving train in Secunderabad on Saturday night to escape an alleged sexual assault, police said. The victim, who works in inventory management for a food delivery app and resides in a women’s hostel in Medchal, was traveling on the Telapur-Medchal MMTS train after having her phone repaired in Secunderabad.
According to her statement to the Secunderabad GRP police, a man, estimated to be around 25 years old, approached her after two other female passengers alighted at Alwal station. He allegedly made inappropriate advances and attempted to assault her. Fearing for her life, the woman jumped from the train, sustaining multiple injuries to her head, chin, right hand, and waist.
Passersby found her and alerted emergency services. She was rushed to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for treatment. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation based on the victim’s statement that she believes she can identify her attacker. The investigation is ongoing.
