**Singapore, March 24, 2025** – San Marine, a Kakinada-based shipbuilding company, will highlight the growth potential of Andhra Pradesh’s shipbuilding industry at the Singapore Maritime Week (SMW)-2025. The event, a flagship program of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, brings together global maritime leaders.
San Marine, the only private shipbuilder in Andhra Pradesh, will showcase its achievements and technologies, including its success in tug construction. Director Sheik Ahmed Alisha stated that the company aims to demonstrate the sector’s contribution to Andhra Pradesh’s economic growth and employment opportunities.
India, alongside Singapore and the Netherlands, is a major participant in SMW-2025. Representatives from the Indian Maritime University, Shipyard Association of India, and Indian government will also be present. Alisha emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s potential as a maritime trade and shipbuilding hub, given its extensive coastline. San Marine’s presentation is scheduled for March 26th.
