Mon Mar 24 02:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Orthodox Jewish Passenger Files Lawsuit Against United Airlines After Forcible Removal From Airplane Bathroom

**NEW YORK, NY** – An Orthodox Jewish passenger is suing United Airlines and the US Department of Homeland Security after he was allegedly forcibly removed from an airplane bathroom mid-flight, handcuffed upon landing, and subjected to anti-Semitic remarks from the pilot.

Yisroel Liebb, from New Jersey, claims that on January 28th, during a flight from Tulum, Mexico to Houston, he was in the lavatory for approximately 20 minutes due to severe constipation when a flight attendant, prompted by a fellow passenger, Jacob Sebbag, intervened. Liebb alleges that the pilot then forcibly removed him, exposing his genitalia to other passengers.

Upon arrival in Houston, CBP officers, responding to a request from United Airlines, boarded the plane and took Liebb and Sebbag into custody, handcuffing them and parading them through the terminal. Their luggage was searched, and they missed their connecting flight to New York City. The lawsuit further alleges that the pilot made disparaging remarks about their Orthodox Jewish faith.

Both Liebb and Sebbag are named as plaintiffs in the lawsuit filed Wednesday in Manhattan federal court. United Airlines has declined to comment, and CBP, while confirming their response to a reported disturbance, cited ongoing litigation as preventing further comment. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
