Mon Mar 24 02:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Orthodox Jewish Passenger Sues United Airlines, DHS After Alleged Humiliating Bathroom Incident

**Houston, TX** – A New Jersey man is suing United Airlines and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after claiming he was forcibly removed from a plane’s bathroom while experiencing constipation, leaving him exposed to other passengers. Yisroel Liebb alleges that the pilot broke the bathroom lock and pulled him out with his pants down during a flight from Tulum, Mexico to Houston on January 28th.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Manhattan federal court, details Liebb’s account of the incident. He claims he was in the bathroom for approximately 20 minutes when the pilot intervened, allegedly yelling at him to leave immediately. When Liebb stated he would be out shortly, the pilot allegedly broke the lock, forcing the door open and exposing Liebb’s genitalia to fellow passengers and crew.

Liebb and a fellow passenger, Jacob Sebbag, claim the pilot made antisemitic remarks and threatened arrest. Upon landing in Houston, CBP officers boarded the plane, handcuffed the men, and took them into custody. The men missed their connecting flight to New York City and incurred additional expenses for overnight accommodations.

A spokesperson for CBP confirmed that officers responded to a disturbance report from the airline but declined further comment due to ongoing litigation. United Airlines also declined to comment. The lawsuit alleges assault, battery, false arrest, and religious discrimination. Liebb and Sebbag are seeking unspecified damages. The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about airline passenger rights and the conduct of both airline staff and law enforcement.
