**Mysuru, March 24, 2025** – Dr. M.S. Basavaraj, Chief Medical Officer at the University of Mysore, was felicitated at a retirement ceremony on Monday, marking the end of his 30-year career at the university’s Manasagangotri campus. The event, held at the EMRC auditorium, was organized by the Vishwamanava Mysore University Employees’ Association and Nava Vishwamanava Trust.

Attendees included dignitaries, colleagues, and well-wishers who praised Dr. Basavaraj’s dedication and compassionate service, particularly his contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Geetha Prasanna, principal of a police training school and chief guest, described him as a “doctor with humaneness.” Additional Superintendent of Police Malik highlighted the vital roles of doctors, police, and teachers in societal well-being, expressing hope that Dr. Basavaraj would continue his service.
