Mon Mar 24 01:29:54 UTC 2025: ## Shiv Sena Demands Arrest of Kunal Kamra, Accuses Him of Conspiracy Against Eknath Shinde
**Mumbai, March 24, 2025** – A Shiv Sena functionary has filed a complaint with Mumbai Police demanding the arrest of stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut. The complaint alleges a criminal conspiracy to defame Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The complaint stems from Kamra’s recent stand-up routine, where he allegedly referred to Shinde as a “Gaddar” (traitor). This sparked outrage among Shiv Sena members, leading to the vandalism of the hotel where the video was recorded.
Shiv Sena social media in-charge Rahool Kanal’s letter to the police alleges that Kamra’s act was pre-planned in conjunction with Thackeray, Gandhi, and Raut, part of a “systematic paid campaign” to damage Shinde’s reputation. Kanal cited the coordinated nature of the incident, its timing in politically sensitive Maharashtra, and the involvement of Shinde’s political opponents as evidence of a deliberate smear campaign.
Further fueling the accusations, another Shiv Sena leader circulated a photo of Kamra and Raut together, serving as a warning to the comedian. Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde has also demanded Kamra’s immediate arrest. The Mumbai Police are yet to comment on the complaint.
